Picture Grammar App for Visual Learners
Picture Grammar is an App for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. It is ideal as a reference resource for dyslexics, visual thinkers, or those learning English as a foreign language. It was developed by a small group of UK Davis facilitators to promote awareness of the necessary and logical relationship between three parts of a word as described by Ron Davis and to raise money for the Gifts for Dyslexia Bursary fund. Gifts For Dyslexia (G4D) is a charitable organization which provides bursary fund for people with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, attention deficit difficulties, and other related learning disorder who need financial help to access a Davis ® programme.
This unique App gives a visual meaning to nine parts of speech and includes more than 150 illustrated definitions of the most common adverbs, determiners, pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions. The word, its meaning and use are simply seen and easily understood.
Many of the words belonging to these groups have multiple definitions and for anyone struggling to understand and use English, this can be confusing. For the first time, all the multiple definitions of these words are illustrated and have an optional spoken sentence. The definition of meaning is seen as text. There are links from each example sentence to the relevant part of speech definition to show how the word has been used.
